I know I read somewhere that it is possible to run more than one articles module on your site, but for the life of me I am unable to locate that information. ~goes hunting for it again~

You can simply use more then one module.
Each module has diffrent databases, also some modules are duplicatable.(Tinycontent D)
So you could have AMS and the Articles module running on the same site with out a problem.

My own site currently uses Tinycontent & Sections - but this is slowly being moved to using only WF-Sections

I could be wrong about this, but there are some, if not most, modules that can't be used toghter. This is because of them being cloned and changed, but the functions are still the same. This results in errors.

I've used news 1.3.11 and AMS successfully togeter.

What is it that you want to do that needs seperate modules?
