I installed XOOPS 1.3.10 and it went in pretty easy. No errors at all. After the install I tried to log in as adminstrator and it just brought up the page to register. I tried to register a new user and it said that it could not register the new user. So here I am. I cant get into the admin interface to change anything.

The instructions said to chmod 755 or 777 all "cache" folders under the "modules" directory
chmod 666 all files included in each cache" folder as listed below

modules/system/cache/mainmenu.php
modules/system/cache/adminmenu.php
modules/system/cache/badips.php
modules/system/cache/badunames.php
modules/system/cache/badwords.php

modules/xoopsfaq/cache/5 (this file does not esist)

This wont help with your problem but i have to ask:

Do you really want to start a new site with this unsupported and outdated version of Xoops?

If this was not intentional then you should get XOOPS 2.0.13.

And to top it all, your site contains spyware.

The reason for using XOOPS 1.3.10 is that the other versions would not run well on my host server. I do not have admin rights to my host server and never will. If this is the only version that will run then I have to use it.

Now as for my problem.

Yes the site has spyware on it and I cant find it. I downloaded XOOPS from xoops.org. I will continue my efforts to get rid of the bug.
