I've just installed version 2.0.11 on a server running apache & MySql (not sure which versions), and everything works fine, except the register page!

I've gone into the admin>preferences>userinfo and turned 'on' the allow new registrations and my website still comes back with a "no user selected" error when you click the 'register now' link.

Could someone please try and let me know what they think i'm forgetting to do? >> EDITED

Thanks in advance,
Aamir

I haven't seen that before.

I also don't see anything in register.php that would redirect one with that message.

Have you changed anything in the installation apart from the theme?

Nope... i've only changed the theme, everything else is at default apart from installing a few modules from the default modules list and playing around with a few blocks.

But all this didn't work prior to me changing the theme from the default theme.

I'm not quite sure i understand your second sentence? If you click on the "register now" link off the mainpage, it doesn't go anywhere but shows a sort of redirection page with a gray top that says "no user selected! please go back and try again, if it doesn't redirect..." that's it, it doesn't even show the registeration page... which is what i'm trying to figure out if anyone knows if i'm off on any setting or something? I've CHMOD the file register.php to 666 on the server...

Just stating that the code doesn't have any redirection in register.php - which is why I am quite puzzled on this.

oh, i see... and so the fact that it says "no user selected" and goes into a redirection code should mean that something really odd is happening? How do i resolve this then? Any trouble shooting things you can suggest?

Should i just reinstall something or do something?

i'm very much a novice in internet technologies, but a good direction follower, so any help would be appreciated.

NEVERMIND the issue has been resolved, it may have just been a corrupted upload to the server.

thanks for effort.
