Going from a VERY large phpbb to newbb??

Is there a way to easily transfer data from a phpbb forum to the newbb forum??? I know that you can use phpbb with XOOPS but we would like to try the newbb forum instead. Since our database is huge we are having issues with backups.

Forgot... I found this topic:

Koudanshi usually has a good grasp on these things, so I would say yes.

Whatever you do, remember to make a backup of both the files and the database prior to doing anything.
