Does anyone know how I can set up an automatic script that will give users a subdomain of their choice that will point directly to their profiles??

I see that hotscripts has some scripts like this available, but I wouldn't know how to impliment them into the XOOPS database.

You can use .htaccess with mod rewrite to do this, but its a bit complicated.

Basically you'll need to point all x.domain.com to a file that will convert the username to their ID, then it will need to process it like what user.php does with that ID to display the user info.

That sounds awesome!

But I have no clue how I would even start to do this.
I'd basicly need step by step instructions as I am not a programmer. Although, I do feel fairly comfortable getting around XOOPS php code now.

Can you point me to a tutorial or something?

wow! it can be made by htaccess??

Can you send me an example of htaccess to do this? so i can make the script to redirect this to the correspondent user profile and post here... That would be amazing, and many other people already ask for a script like this in the foruns before.

thanx in advance,
Mauricio

cha cha.....

I'd still like an answer to this question.
I can't imagine this isn't possible.

Especially after pegasus00321 said it was possible with htaccess.

I am just a dumb butt and need someone to tell me how.

P...P...P...Please???
