Seting Up New Groups in Admin

Hi ALL,
I need a LOT of help with my site, I trying to put clubs or groups together.
In other words...
Have a word in a block, say "UK Business Network" this will then link to it's own home page and have it's own calender and allow any (registered) browser users to register as part of this group.

I note when you add a block, say ("UK Business Network Home Page")it asks WHERE is it "Visible in", theres are modules that will also come up with that home page information.
Is there like a "BLANK" module so it will look like the "TOP PAGE", info (home pg text) in the middel and the text links off from that on the sides.

It's like a side within a site.

ANY idears how I can do this.

I look for ward to your help and advise.

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but the best way to use groups is for added permissions. In other words keep all registered users in the registered user group for all basic permissions of your site. Create a group and add permissions to that group not available in the registered users group. This will have these users members of the registered user group and your custom group. All basic and added permissions would apply to these users.

HTH.

On a side note as you add modules or blocks, the registered user group get access by default, so you may be required to remove these permissions if you want them only available to the custom group.

Re: Seting Up New Groups in Admin

Hi Tahnk you, for that.

How do I display the home page test for this in the middel of the site and still have ALL of the text links down the sides, like: Community, User Menu and Search. I want to click on the text link that I have added, like here you have "Xoops News" when you click on it everything down the sides stay there and that link (page) displays in the middel.

I have the text for this group home page, that I have uploaded to my server http://www.mysite.com/thehomepage.html at the moment clicking on the text link takes your there, BUT openings it in another page. How do I get it to open up in the same page?

I have uploaded the TINYD module this allows me to add home pages or subject matter about what I want to wright and hav links to them.

How would you surggest that I go about asinging registered users of my site to that group?.

Or do you have ANY idears how I can forum a group of already registered users to a group that can be administored independantly of the main registered users.
