I'm just wondering.. I downloaded and installed the WF-Sections, and I think the module is wonderful!

I did, however, see a post regarding security issues in the version 2.01, I believe, that I have.

I see there is a new version out, I am not a programmer, but I follow directions well as to modifying something if I have to... but I have asked a couple of questions regarding a couple of problems I am currently having with the wf-sections version on my site, and have not received a response.

I asked these questions in the wf developers forum, and I have asked 1 other here, and so I guess I just really want to find out if there is any support for this module anymore before I decide to upgrade to the version 2.0.7?

This module has so many features that I need, but there are some problems that I am having with it that need to be addressed, even if someone responded to me saying that what I was encountering is a bug that is fixed in a soon-to-come version... I don't care, but I just want to make sure that I don't incorporate this into my site and can't get help if I run into any problems.

Please note- In no way am I disrespecting anything or anyone here. The person/team who designed anything and everything here, knows a heck of a lot more than I will probably ever know, and I appreciate all the hard work.. But if I knew tomorrow that XOOPS was going to discontinue their work on the XOOPS in general- I couldn't continue to use the XOOPS script, due to my lack of programming knowledge.

Thank you all for your efforts in this project... if someone wouldn't mind letting me know, regarding the WF modules.. are these being supported?

OOPS! Real quick and maybe I'll go ahead and post my question again:

If you go to my site, you can see the link on the left that says RATE & REVIEW- if you click on that it displays one of my reviews, the top dropdown link... which comes up as article does not exist when it is clicked on. When I scroll over it, it is showing as articleid=0. I have tried everything I can think of to get that article in the main menu to stop showing up-
Any way of disabling this from showing up at all in my menu? I just want the topics/categories to show up there. Possibly something I need to do in MySQL database?

2nd question... I am entering my html coding in as I would to tinyd for my rate & review articles in the WF-Section, and the text that I enter in ends up showing up very tiny. when the link is clicked on and displayed in real-time.

Is there a section that I can change the size of how the text is displaying to the public in WF-Sections?

Again.. thanks for all you guys do- once I go live with my site, you WILL be receiving a donation from me for your work.

i personally would suggest to go with the wf-section 2.0.7b3 version. eventhough it still has quite a lot of bugs, but the basic functions are working fine (i have used it in my production site and suit my requirements well).

the wf-projects team i think at the moment need to have/still in the process of reorganizing their project team (due to the leave of their key developer(s)). that's probably the reason there are not much activities on the website. i really hope they can resolve this issue and continue their works on the wf-projects' modules series (which are all great!).

there are several other options if you want, for example: the smartsection, news 1.3, or article module from andy which might suit your requirements.

Thank you so much for your response karedokx-

I think I will try that on the WF- upgrading to the next version.
I really like it, and it seems very easy to use... so far

I obviously don't know that I will run into the same problem on the 2.0.7 version, but just in case, would you by chance know which file I would need to go in to for modifying if the text comes out so tiny again? You can see what I mean by going to that section of my site.. it is so small I can barely read it- and I believe I have it set to 12pt in my html coding.

Again, I appreciate your time,

Colleen

is that the one, from example: this page.

where the following text is so tiny:
Here is Miss Ella's space-?

seems to me it is using the style: style2, so you should look for this style either in your theme style or i think in this one in the wf-sections.css.

class="style2" DESIGNTIMESP="17626">Here is Miss Ella's space-

ps. good website btw.

Thank you for your kind words of my website karedokx.

Still a little ways to go.. hopefully up and running w/in 2 weeks.

I am having a hard time finding the wf-section.css- could this be a .php file I would need to change, I'm not finding any css files in wf?

I would go in and change my theme text size, but I don't think that is the problem as I don't have the same thing happening with the reviews I entered in through tinyd.
(tinyd is what I originally started using until I realized there was no rate option available.. then I was guided to the wf-section) I need to take the tinyd down off the site though.

Maybe it is in the theme though? hmmmm.... I'm going to have to play with this a bit I think.

(I forgot to mention- yes that is the section that you mentioned that my text is too small in )

Thanks!

Hi karedokx,

I have a question that maybe you could help me with.
I've decided to just try the 2.07 beta 3, and for the most part, things seem to be working fine, but I am now encountering a problem with how the sections are displaying in the left block (Main Menu)

No matter what I seem to change, the top 2 sections should be in reverse order to what they are. It's odd because they show up everywhere else in the correct order, in the section box, the main rate & review page, but I've tried altering weight, and then tried updating the module, I read somewhere that there are issues with the sections in wf, but I'm not seeing what the specific problems were.. would you have any idea what this problem could be? Or how I can fix it?

hmm, never use the menu myself. i think you are right. looking at the code seems that the order is based on the section title.

i'm still in the process of learning php myself. let me try:

go to the following directory: wfsection\blocks and edit wfs_menu.php file. you will find the following line (line 42):

$result = $xoopsDB->query("SELECT id, title, pid, groupid FROM " . $xoopsDB->prefix(WFS_CATEGORY_DB) . " ORDER BY title ASC");

change it into:

$result = $xoopsDB->query("SELECT id, title, pid, groupid FROM " . $xoopsDB->prefix(WFS_CATEGORY_DB) . " ORDER BY weight ASC");

change the title into weight, and update your module. it should fix your problem.

let me know of the outcome.

Well, I did make that change but now I can't see my site at all... I tried to change it back but it doesn't seem to want to accept them back..lol

would you have any idea of how to get into the admin area of the site if this problem has occured so I can disable and fix some things?

Thanks

my goodness. what kind of changes you have made?

i have packed the modified file ini the following address: wf-sections menu modified.

you can downloaded it (it is compress in the rar format), unrar ini, and ftp it to replace the wfsection\blocks wfs_menu.php file.

to access your XOOPS admin page, try this:
admin screen

and get your wf-section module updated (once you have update the above file). or get your wf-sections module back to the original and replace the wfs_menu.php file with the one i put in the above dir.

let me know of the outcome.
