I just installed XOOPS for the umpteenth time and get this crazy problem. Everything said it installed just fine but the index.php page is blank...sort of. The blue XOOPS logo and banner show up at the top as well as the XOOPS 2002 powered by bar, but the rest is blank. I've already reupload the themes folder several times, CHMODed a bunch of files, turned on debug mode, and i get no errors and if you go to register.php it will let you register then send you off to the blank index.php file. I can't even try to log in anywhere.

This site was going to be an content addition to my main site which is powered by PostNuke. I just can't see how PostNuke would be interfering anywhere since XOOPS has its own directory and database. I also had XOOPS installed in this directory a few months back and it did work just fine but didn't have the time then to play with it so I nixed the database and deleted all XOOPS files from my server.

Any ideas?

Try login in at http://yoursite_url/user.php

Then go to http://yoursite_url/admin.php

See if you can access the admin to get to the block and group permission settings. Also for the blank page problem. Enable php debug for that page.

Maybe something went wrong during ftp-transfer.

Some ftp-programs have the unwanted "feature" to shorten .html-files to .htm-files.

Another nice unwanted "feature" of ftp-programs could be that all your filenames are lowercase after ftp-transfer (I think there are only the three files inside class/smarty which are written mixed uppercase and lowercase).

I get the following error when accessing user.php:

Warning [Xoops]: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "db:system_userform.html" in file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 1084

Does that mean that the name is probalby not in caps? I don't have access to my ftp right now while i'm at work so I can't check.

I'll check the file structure when I get home to make sure caps are caps and html is not htm.

Any other ideas will be great.

Thanks.
