AMS Spotlight and PHP5

The spotlight feature does not work under PHP5, only under version 4

PHP 5 error is:-
Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in /opt/lampp/htdocs/workspace/kernel/block.php on line 87

Is there any way to rectify this?

You could also upgrade to XOOPS 2.0.10 where this has been implemented.
