Ok. I've set the "news" module as my "module for start page," and now I'm having a problem:

I can't seem to be able to control its weight. I have a "recent topics" block above the news, and I can't get it below.

I'm sorry if the answer to this problem is really obvious... I've been trying for a couple of hours here.

Errrm... now I have News at the top AND the bottom. I put the code shown above the other code shown. What could I be doing wrong?

Ok, you put the code at the top, did you remove the code from where it was originally? Looks like you have two instances of the code.
