In the Firefox address bar type about:config , then filter for redirect. There should be an option to change the network.http.redirection-limit. Double-click to change.

Hi & thanks Brash,
what is the significance of this setting and why do i need to suddenly change it?

what should the limit be set to? i set it to 30 and it still does not work, same alert.

i can get direct to other specified URLs in the site but index.php fails with that alert.

i tried diableing http refferer in the includes/functions file. still no go

That's getting a little ugly then. I *think* this function was put into Firefox to prevent your browser from going into infinite loops.

As you were playing the the blocks last, what were you doing exactly?

Oh Dear i am stupid...real stupid.

Just in case anyone has the same issue....
I deleted a module that was listed as the start page module in the admin preferences.

so the poor browser/server were just sitting there haveing an argument over where to go.

Sorry to waste your time brash, but would still like to know what the ideal setting is for refferer limit.

No worries . I think the default limit is 20, which sounds about right to me.

Good one

What about this;

There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary, and those who don't.
