Header question and custom block question

Ok first, for some reason I just cant get my header to center properly without it forcing the background over to the right thus the bottom scroll bar as well. Any one see anything in the source code what I am doing wrong there? This is using firefox so no sure if its as bad in IE.

Also Is there a reason why my custom center blocks dont get the same title background as do the other center blocks? If you look the one I have with the screen shot has no background in the title section where the news block below does. Also any reason why in IE the titles center but the titles do not center in firefox?

image properties indicate the image width to be 784px, but code is as follows:

where are you seeing the image property at? when i click the logos properties i see 1024?

using firefox - view background image

what is your site width?

Forgive me, a programmer I am not hehe, I made this site piece by piece slllowwwlllyyy hehe.

I want it to be 1024 as that is my screen res and I think the most common as well. Where do I see the site size?

not sure, but i think it is set for 100%

Shouldnt it be 100%? sry if thats a dumb question but I am a bit of a newb with this :)
