I upgrade from 2.0.7 to 2.0.9.2. Why does my site still say 2.0.7? I believe the files were just patch file which I overwrote but there is no upgrade file so I assume the datebase wasn't effected. So which file contains the new version number?

Check include/version.php.

Even on a new installation the version numbers which are displayed at page bottom are incorrect. This is revealing how the development or XOOPS management is is not up to par.

Where does your site say 2.0.7?

If it is not in the administration menu, it could be because 2.0.7 is in your site's meta footer (administration menu -> system admin -> preferences -> meta tags and footer) or because it is hard-coded in your theme.

Which version is in your include/version.php file?
