Are there any good scripts/docs for doing this? If I have to do it myself, are there any things I should look out for?

I have no idea whether there is a script to import phpBB to NewBB (NewBB is the default forum for Xoops). However, you will find a phpBB module for XOOPS at :

www.bbpixel.com

You may find some help on their site about importing users and posts into the module from stand-alone phpBB.

oo so i can't use my user oo they gona kill me ! anybody else help me pls !!
so can i just rename my data base prefiks and put users and posts ! or anything pls im 4 times hacked on my phpbb and i must change to XOOPS ( becouse its good for me )

Getting hacked through phpbb and moving to XOOPS with your phpbb board intact will not solve the problem. Several security patches have been released recently for phpbb - you should consider patching your installation first before trying to move it into another phpbb fork.
