Hi All,
I can't believe this doesn't exist... so maybe it does.
I am simply trying to make a 'Products' section in XOOPS that would have submenus under the main menu for various products, then within the individual product areas, allow multiple pages related to each product with a block on that.
Example:
Main Menu
--------------
Products
> Product A
>>> Features
>>> Screenshots
>>> Reviews
>>> Download
>>> Testimonials
>>> etc. etc.
> Product B
>>> Features
>>> Screenshots
>>> Reviews
>>> Download
>>> Testimonials
>>> etc. etc.
In addition to this on the main menu, it would be nice to be able to have a block in the product pages themselves that have the submenu items:
Features
Screenshots
Reviews
Download
Testimonials
etc. etc.
Finally, I would want the system to be fairly open, so that I could EASILY clone it and make a 'SERVICES' area of the site, and 'SUPPORT', and so on.
Stuff I have tried
OK, this seems like pretty basic stuff for anyone with a product-driven website, but I have not seen any modules for anything like this. I have tried WFSections, but it is too geared for articles, and doesn't have the sub-menu functionality I am looking for. I have tried tiny content, which is nice, but also doesn't go this far. I found one attempt called x-enterprise, and it was certianly on the right path, but stopped short of this basic functionality.
Things I DON'T want to do that people will suggest
I have seen the sugegstions about wrapping a standard HTML site in an iframe. If all else fails, that is what I will have to do. But there are several problems with this approach:
Problem 1)
The content is not XOOPS searchable.
Problem 2)
I cannot control it through the main menu/submenus (I think)
Problem3)
It really defeats the purpose of xoops, as the great benefit is managing ALL content within the system.
Anything? Anyone?
