Is there a "CashMod"-like module for Xoops?

PhpBB has "CashMod", and IPB has "IBShop", on both, you're rewarded points for each post/topic/poll you make, and with those points you can purchase forum specialties like make your name glow, italicize your name, steal points from others, and a ton of other things.

Is there a XOOPS equivalent of this?

There is the userpoints module which is no longer under development. I also believe the karma module for NewBB 2 is underway.

if XOOPS ever gets crap like this I hope it's all disabled by default.

This feature can actually be very useful in cetain situations to stimulate constructive forum activity. I don't like the site structure much, but have a look at experts-exchange as they very rarely have a question there that goes unanswered. Not something for everyone though.
