Now after mongrel's post there and visiting the linkhttp://wordpress.org/support/topic.php?id=7612 it seems this is usual with wordpress.

And if this is the case then wordpress has no use as multi user blog where users of same level can edit others' blogs too.

The people who are using wordpress module, they know and trust all their users! Or are they some how lucky not to have problem like me.

There are other competitors of WordPress. Can't they be ported to xoops! I love XOOPS for having all the great modules.

this solution works for me. my users cannot edit one anothers posts. not sure if they ever could, but i uploaded the patch and checked, and they can't. i would like to see more support around this module though as it is complex to use.
