Hi..
I have the three standard groups (Webmaster, Registered Users an Anonymous Users). No i've created a new group. This new group should contain registered Useres, but these useres in there should not be able to post news.

So how to realize this?

I think the best way to accomplish what you want is to deny the regitered user group access to submit News, and make a new group and give that group the right to submit news.

By default registered users get all block access, and module access. If you need them to have less rights you need to edit the registered users group. Groups that you create should be for added permissions. Much easier that way.

ok!
right now the new group is able to post news (great :))
but the problem is to take registered users the permission to post news...
if i take the registered user's group rights, they won't even be able to see news posted by other useres...

how can i just deny to post news!?

You would set that in the admin section of the news module itself. In news admin preferences, you should have a submit rights section.

*doh*

was running news ver. 1.1 and couldn't find in news a menu for cahngeing permissons...
but after updateing to ver.1.2 it works fine :)

Glad it works now. I do much the same on my site with custom groups.
