I too want to change the (+)'s to(-)'s.

Do I just change all the + signs above to - signs? Do I have to modify any other files or code lines?

Also to anyone else,
Is there anyway to get the url to also include the article title. Specificly in WF-Sections. Here is the tile code from module/wfsection/article.php file.

Could I insert $articletag['title'] into the simplified_urls file somewhere to get it to display the article title in the url. I have found that you get better SE placement with title urls like www. myhome.com/articles/how_to_doda.html (I have another website that I did with Dreamweaver and is all html, and most of my 100 articles get top 5 spots when searched for their topic). Do A google search on "solar kiln" i'm #3, or "quarter sawn lumber" #1 and you will see what I mean. I get about 50% of my traffic from the SE results for the articles.

So I could modify the simplified_url.php to show something like www. myhome.com/wfsection-how_to_doda-id-1.htm ? Any thoughts??

Why bother with this hack who are your trying to please with it? What is your goal? If search engine placement is the goal then the hack is not necessary.

Nevermind It's too late, Google has me crawled, indexed, and I'm getting visitors from Google.

I think this url fix works good though. My robot stats are showing;

Google is hitting me everyday, 4853 hits and 75MB in the last week.

AskJeeves has 1326 hits and 18MB.

MSN and Slurp are not to good yet, only about 30 hits and 500 KB.

Hopefully they will catch up, but I am not holding my breath. My other website is getting 1500 people a day, and 800 are from SE's, with Google leading with 600, then Yahoo at 100, then MSN 75. then others making up the rest. Google is definatly the king, for now.

I strongest MSN followed by Google Slurp Alexa barely by Jeeves what did you do to make jeeves so happy?

I have no Idea how Jeeves found me or why they are so into me? I beleive Jeeves is a paid submission process, and I don't pay for submissions, so I am stumped??

Jeeves doesn't even visit my other website, and it is 2 years old.

On my html site, robots stats is showing for this month
google is 8048 hits and 118MB
MSNBot is 2565 hits and 55MB
Slurp is 1439 hits and 15MB

So Google is my best friend! But maybe Jeeves will be on my new site, but I don't think more people will use jeeves, than Google, so Google will probably stay King for me anyway.

Although, who knows how this new Microsoft search thing will work out?? They may take Google's #1 posistion if their new search is as good as they think is is. I doubt it though, it is still MS and they can't change that.

I had installed "Simplified URLs version 1.3" ... but ran into a problem.

I went over the install/setup instructions 3 times to make sure I wasn't missing something ... suprisingly it seems I wasn't.

My site is at http://www.merlinean.com ... but when I put the URL into my browser all I got was a blank screen. I cleared the history & cache in the browser ... just in case that was the problem. It wasn't.

The only way I could get the site to show up was by entering http://www.merlinean.com/index.html ... and then the site came up OK. Even using the "index.php" did not work ... just got an error page.

I have removed the 2 pages and the modifications to .htaccess & mainfile.php ...

Apparently no one else is experiencing this problem. Any ideas on what I might do to make it work right for me?

Linux 2.4.21-20.EL.c0smp
Apache 1.3.33 (Unix)
PHP 4.3.9
MySQL 4.0.22-standard

I have been a member here for quite a while now ... but this is my first LIVE install of XOOPS .. and I am a XOOPS & PHP idiot (self admitted ;))

I actually ended up removing Simplified URLs and tried Reynaldos ShortURLs ... and it works GREAT.

I ended up removing ShortURLs ... too many problems as I went along ;-(

Then I reinstalled Simplified URLs and ... apparently I had not installed it properly before because this time it worked. Go figure

But today i decided to install module MadLiens.I think you do not know it..Normal it is an old module and french

Well in fact your hack doesn't work with it. When you enter this adress : http://www.monsite.com/MadLiens+index.htm that works but when you enter http://www.easy-achat.com/MadLiens+index.id+2.htm (that should show an other page) that still show this one (http://www.monsite.com/MadLiens+index.htm).

It is quite a simple module, i mean it justs show your banner,logo,buttons and the code the user must enter on his site to refer you so i hope a modification is possible?

Hope someone could help me.
