I just downloaded several of the modules from the modules download pages. I unzipped each of them into their own unique file folder, but in almost every instance there were multiple files with the same name and very very close to the same time for when they were created if not the exact same time. The system will only let me have one file of the same name at a time in the folder. so I picked the most recent. after uploading into the modules file and attempting to install the modules none of them worked. Can any one tell me what I am doing wrong? or what file it is to use?
most of the duplications are index.php and or index.html
with either two or more of the same type.

When unzipping, did you keep the directory names that were present in the .zip file?
