next week, I will be the guest on a radio talk show regarding my website. The site is just the myalbum module and normally has 75-90 people online according to the sessions block. The radio show is one of the largest FM shows on the west coast and is syndicated in several markets, so I am expecting huge amounts of traffic. The site is on a dedicated server with some other sites, but i will move them to another server til traffic is back to normal levels. What can I do within XOOPS to ensure it can handle large amounts of traffic?

I would say the main thing would be to optimize your cache levels, more for static content, less for dynamic and other regularly changing content.

This will keep the queries down, which will cause less load and faster loading pages. Of course the more memory the better if you have control over that.

Good luck.

- Make sure all blocks that can be cached, are cached
- Reduce content size on main page to minimum of what is required
- Tune your theme to use less HTTP requests
- Make sure PHP has something like Zend or Turck enable to speed it up.
