Hi,

I'm looking for simple datdase module similar to what Yahoo groups have. It uses a basic input form and produces a table showing the data. Each user can add their own rows of data.

Is there anyting out there like that?

Re: Simple Database Module

Formulize might be suitable for that. You can use it to make forms of any kind, and users can have the option of browsing their previous entries, or all entries by users who are in the same group(s) as them.

You can find it on dev.xoops.org here:

http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/?formulize

There is a forum discussion thread there that goes into some of the details about the different configuration options for forms, which might be important to you depending on what sort of behaviour/interaction you intend the users to have with the form. That thread is here:

The current release is a "release candidate" so not officially recommended for production systems. It should be quite stable (it's not a Beta), but it is not a final release either.

Is there anyway to hide the report writing mode select box. I just want to give users the ability to add data and to view data using predefined roports that they cannot use.

Re: Simple Database Module

Thanks for your interest in the module!

There is a template patch in the Formulize area on dev.xoops.org which turns off report writing mode and all its features for non-admin users of the form.

Note that the patch takes notice of admin permission on that specific form, as defined in the module itself, it does not pay attention to a group's module access permission.

Please direct other questions/issues/requests to the trackers and the forum in the Formulize area on dev.xoops.org. Thanks. I hope Formulize helps you do what you need to do.
