I just created a new theme based on the default theme. When viewing the newbb main page, the Category header is dark grey on slate blue, which is very hard to read. The problem is, I can't seem to find anywhere to change it. Please help!

Thanks, Joe

Hello JoeTampa and welcome to XOOPS forums Somewhere there's a news item on the newbb recent release and in it there are deatils about changing the style sheet that comes with it. This specifically about the hover over popup menus, I think, but there may be more details. I'm sorry but you will ahve to search and see if you can find it, unless someone else knows a direct answer to this.

Best chance is to look in the newbb files and look at the style.css file to make any changes.

I changed the file (in fact, tried a few choices) - didn't seem to do anything...

<{section name=category loop=$categories}>
Crab Care

I'll try editing the style sheet... I know HTML, but am such a css newbie it's scary.

OK... Seems like updating the module is not updating the template - the templates/newbb_index.html is changed, but when I view the source of the page, it's not. (sigh).

It says that it is updating it:

Updating templates...
Template newbb_index.html inserted to the database.
Template newbb_search.html inserted to the database.
Template newbb_searchresults.html inserted to the database.
Template newbb_thread.html inserted to the database.
Template newbb_viewforum.html inserted to the database.
Template newbb_viewtopic_flat.html inserted to the database.
Template newbb_viewtopic_thread.html inserted to the database.

Which database should I be looking at to see what's going on?

Thanks for the help. This is quite frustrating.

even if you change the style sheet you sill need to define the th element. so, i assume you have cloned your templates and are able to edit them. you may have to read some faqs on this, but i believe editing the template in question is the solution.

I even tried inserting a tag - that didn't get moved into the DB. I think the module update feature leaves a bit to be desired.

in this case the first thing you need to do is be able to update the edited template. have you set the update html to yes within preferences -> genetal settings?
