Hello,

I am completely new to Xoops, I have installed it on my webserver, a database is succesfully created and I can enter the site...

But when a new member registers, no User activation key is send to him. XOOPS says that there is one send, but... no mail.

What do I do wrong?

Michel

Hello Michel and welcome to XOOPS forums

Have you set up you email correctly in admin.? are you the administrator getting notification that a new user has registered? this should also happen.

Please check your settings and try again

Yes, I set up everything correctly (in my opinion, but you know... I am new to this...)

I also don't receive a message in my administrator mailbox.

When I search for memebers, I only see one member, and that is the administrator (that's me). But I can see a few inactive users (I suppose that they become active when they replied their activation mail, but first they have to receive it).

The "Mail delivery method" method I use is PHP mail, but I have also tried sendmail, both with no results.

Im facing the same problem where no activation key is send for a new registration. I also don't received any e-mail regarding a new registration although that I have set the webmaster e-mail.

But for the poll expiration, Contact Form, and for a new password generation, all the e-mail is sent to successfully.

I have installed XOOPS 2.0.9.2, with a Dutch language pack.

Also a new user to Xoops, I'm also having the same difficulties. In my case, however, my admin/webmaster account *is* receiving mail notification of the registration. It's just the users themselves that do not seem to be receiving the activation e-mails. I'm using PHP Mail at the moment. I tried using SMTP, but then the users would just receive a registration error message saying you registered but your key could not be sent. Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Regards,
Shawn.

EDIT: I'm using XOOPS v 2.0.10 on a remotely hosted site.

EDIT 2: Found out that mail does get successfully sent to any address that is in the same domain as the XOOPS site. This same behaviour is described in both of the following posts:

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=26648&forum=7
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=28430&forum=7&post_id=130142

Unfortunately there is no applicable solutions in either of those posts.
