How do i add text to my home page? I just installed XOOPS and am trying to get a message up on the home page telling my customers that the site has had to be redone and to please wait a day or 2 before signing up. How do I do this?

Log in -> Administration menu -> System Admin -> Preferences -> General Settings

Set "Turn your site off?" to "yes"
Make sure the webmaster's group is in "Select groups that are allowed to access while the site is turned off."
Write your message to the visitors in "Reason for turning off the site"

Ya i did that, dont think it worked though. But,what i'm asking is this. I want to put on the home page, when users go to it, that the site is being modified, not shut down temporarily for maintenance. Like a little statement telling all users that were registered on the previous homepage, to re-reigster here. I can get all the blocks to show but the rest of the page is blank. I want the message to be in the center of the page.

Re: Extreme noob here

Make a custom block in blocks administration where you write your message.

Set it visible in center-center position

In groups admin, set groups permissions for anonymous and registered users so they can access this block.
