If you want to change the avatars of one user, you need to know the name of the avatar

ie.http://www.yoursite.com/uploads/cavt3e3348c921264.jpg

choose another avatar, rename it to the one you want to replace, then upload to your server and overwrite.

If you want to replace the whole lot there is a faq

If you want to keep that image however because others should be able to use it you could always use phpMyAdmin and check the xoops_users tables.
Change the "user_avator" entry to either "blank.gif" or any other image you want him to have.

carnuke means just change the name of the avatar you want them to have (same as what they have atm) and upload it.

I've edited the MySQL databases directly to add avatars for our users, but I can't see any reason why webmasters shouldn't be able to add through the edit user administration function. in fact, this seems to use the same interface that the users see when editing themselves, but with the avatar panel removed.

Can I make a suggestion - have an admin preference that can be set to allow avatars to be added by webmasters and then give the entire user edit panel to the webmaster when they edit a user.

If I can find the time, I will do this and post the patch, but I have a lot of other large projects on the go at the moment and may not get to it for some time! Perhaps the dev team might like to consider this change for the next release.

Thanks

Mike
