If this is the worst of your issues with IE your doing ok.
IE is not 100% W3 compliant. Thus you are going to encounter issues with IE and XOOPS (and any other package that expects a 100% compliant browser)
So far I have found errors with IE on the modules wf-scetions (formatting and displaying some php code), xc gallery (formatting) and some themes (colors/formatting off) that I recall off hand. Yet when viewed with netscape, moz, firefox etc the site/modules display fine.
I tell my members to use a non-ie broswer. If they dont expect some issues. But I am not going to bend over backwards to try to get IE to work right since its IE's fault to start with.
