I am getting this error when trying to install modules.

Unable to install ???. Error(s):

Unable to write to main menu.

the ??? is the name of the module. I just starte getting this and i have not changed anything. I was using XOOPS 2.0.6 and i tried upgrading to 2.0.7.3 and i am still getting this error. I am currently trying to install xoopsgallery but it also happens on other modules i trying to install.

You need to make sure that the script has writable access to the XOOPS cache folder, this is where the mainmenu file is stored and written.

I checked the permissions on this folder and it is set to the permissions of all the others. Still does not work even after resetting them.

Did you search here for that error message?

That error message is generated if:


1) The request method is not POST; or
2) The HTTP_REFERER check fails; or
3) The file cache/adminmenu.php cannot be written to.
