Hi Xoopsters,

Had a few issues recently with xoops. Today, my host people upgraded php and I got the fatal error line 222 business. i told them about upgrading the zend optimizer (don't what this does but it sounds impressive) as suggested on the XOOPS forum (cheers) and now when I type in my domain name http://www.itsallaboutthevibe.com the page can't be found.

However,

when I type in http://www.itsallaboutthevibe.com/modules/news up comes the start page no problem.

Now before today, when I typed in the domain name,(i.e just ending in .com) it came up with the home page, i.e now it does n't?

Can you help xoopsters???

Thanks

Jake

Re: Is this unusual??

When I went to your page it gave me a redirection limit error. That suggests an .htaccess file with bad options or a cPanel config error with redirections, parked domains, etc.

Check you hosting configs for redirection errors. Do you have multiple domains, parked domains, or redirections set-up?

I have three domains. I have tried to redirect the main domain, http://www.itsallaboutthevibe.com to http://www.itsallaboutthevibe.com/modules/news as that was the page that was loading, but it hasn't worked.

There are no parked domains or any redirections now.

what is th htaccess file? I have seen them on file manager of cPanel, but I don't touch anything i don't understand.

What do you think is the next step?

Jake

Check that the index.php of your domain root is the correct one and that something hasn't happened to it

DonXoop - I have checked the ht file associated with my domain name - it seems to be empty 0K all it has when opened in file manager is : .htaccess
File Type: ASCII text

Mithrandir - I have checked the index.php file - I think it is fine - I have even uploaded the original one from a back up to make sure, yet still page cannot be displayed.

If there are errors somewhere, what do I need to look for?

what I don't understand is that I can put in the modules after the domain name e.g. http://www.itsallaboutthevibe.com/modules/newbb/index.php and the page is displayed, but when you put in the standard domain name ending in just .com as someone would do, the page cannot be displayed

This is distressing as I don't know where to begin to fix it.

Thanks xoopsters

Jake

Xoopsters,

For some reason, I cannot explain it, the force seemed to be with me yet again, it now seems to work.

This learning curve is steep and precarious at times.

Thanks for your help
