Ok, thank you all. Predator I hope you had a nice birthday party. I am sorry that people here don't understand what I am trying to say. Now you answered me and I am verry happy ... you had some reasons that you couldn't answer. Thanks again.

All I wanted to ask is:

One reason why should someone use NewBB instead of phpBB?

That's all. Don't get me wrong and don't be mad. I just don't like the newbb project and I have a right to tell my opinion. You have a right to tell your opinion an so on.

Bye.

Personally I like Newbb 1 + 2 - as they are designed from the ground up to integrate into XOOPS - rather than to be "hacked" into it.

Saying which, there are now two alternatives for getting Phpbb working under XOOPS - BbPixel's and the new one (sorry - bad memory and I can't remember the name of the clever person who did it!). So if you do want to use phpbb - you can - thanks to the work of these nice people.

(I did have a problem converting from the bbpixel version back to newbb1 - but thanks to the help of the nice people on the XOOPS forum - I got a MySQL file which did the hard work)

Newbb1 does have its drawbacks, but on my own site - I've found it more than adequate.

Newbb2 is more advanced - and those problems you've found look like they'll be tackled soon enough... I would imagine before it gets a final release.

the answer is very simple: because it is a part of xoops!

Why you want to work with a outside-solution, if the cms have it's own good working thing? I can not understand this rotated opinion!

My personal Experience with XOOPS is, that all questions can be answered, but not in every case immediately, all that you need is a little bit time and Patience - like thousands of other users here - or looking for an own solution.

just look around this forum and you see many people want to convert ipb/phpbb to newbb 2 and waiting for a convertor.

My guess would be a pathe/file naming issue, or you might need to update your templates.

I assume that includes looking at the source of the outputted html page? Only thing outside of a path/file naming issue I could think of would be if it is a permissions issue.
