Newly published articles won't show. please help!

Everything was working fine. The problem started this past Monday. All news articles that were recently submitted and published did not show on the screen. The articles are in the database and show under the author's names but no where else. All old articles are still on the front page and not refreshing.

I reset my preference in sys admin and refresh the news module and reconfigure the news setting but the articles won't come to the modules/news/ pages.

I have about 1633 articles.

Does anyone know anything that can help?

do they show in the topic? If so, the "Publish in home" is probably set to No.

no. They don't show in the topic or anywhere at all except under the author's name. The "Publish in home" radio box is check. I also tried not publish in home for some articles but nothing happen. I check the database, the status for the unseen articles is the same as those that are currenly showing.

I also clean up the cache folder and set everything to no-cache in the preferenece but no result.

The server is running on Apache 1.3.31 and PHP 4.3.8

Ok. I found out what happen now. I think it's a bug.

Articles publish on 12/01/2004 would be expired on 1/01/2005.

Problem: The automatic expired date is set to 01/01/2004 instead of 01/01/2005. So the system treats the articles as expired articles and won't show them on the news page.
