XoopsGallery problem

I recently purchased a domain and moved my site.
I have copied all the files and imported the mySQL db, modified the mainfile.php and set the permissions to the respective folders. XOOPS worked fine.

But all of my albums disappeared, although the files are intact. Tried to "Check for missing XoopsGallery records" and I got this error message:
Quote:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/xxx/public_html/modules/xoopsgallery/session.php on line 55

And it says "Total albums to check: 0", when I have 29 albums.

I have searched all over but can't see anything that will help me. Please help!

Many thanks!

Re: XoopsGallery problem

That is because all the files below xoopsgallery/cache are now owned by you the FTP user when you transfered. The rights are likely at 644 or less which means that the server can't write anymore.

Since you won't likely be able to change the file ownership you need to ask the provider to change ownership of the files begining with modules/xoopsgallery/cache to the webserver process user.

You should also clear out the /cache and /templates_c folders.

The other option is to set permissions of files to 666 and directories to 777 but that isn't wise.

There is a document at the xoopsgallery home page about moving a site.

Don,
Many thanks for your reply. I haven't any success as yet. I have cleared the /cache and /templates_c folders, changed the permissions (within the /xoopsgallery/cache folder) of all the files to 666 and folders to 777. But yet I am getting the same error message.

I've also read the document in xoopsgallery, and updated the xoopsgallery module.

What has went wrong??

Don, thanks anyway. Xoopsgallery has given me quite enough problems because of it using PHP serialisation instead of mySQL. Bit of a bummer, as the Gallery is not a bad platform at all. And of course, XOOPS is brilliant!

I have decided to change to xcgal but I had to loose all my comments on the gallery. What a pity....
