I am looking to remove the XOOPS X icon next to the url and a bookmark. How would I go about this?

Remove or replace favicon.ico in the root of the site.

If you want to make your own favicon from a picture or graphic, this site will do it online for free:

<link href="<{$xoops_url}>/favicon.ico" rel="SHORTCUT ICON" />

...is in the header of your theme.html file (depending on which theme you are using). This tells you the file, purpose, and its location

You can either delete this line from your theme.html file, or you can just delete favicon.ico from you root folder.
