Hello,

I've been wondering if it's possible to have XOOPS keep a local copy of a remote site. Other CMS-type programs can do this, and it can be handy if a remote news site takes a page down or is slashdotted. I've searched through the pages here as well as google, but haven't found an answer.

Any help would be appreciated!

I really don't see this as being the responsibilty of a CMS. Their job is to manage content, not synchronise websites between servers. Have you looked into server clustering, or you could even do this just with some fancy scripting.

Thanks for your response.

I'm not sure I want to replicate squid, or even mirror a remote website. If I'm referring to an article via a link, it can be handy to also have a link to a local copy of that article. Just the html from that page, and the inline images. But you're right maybe some scripting with wget or curl could do it.
