Hi,

This is what i get when i try to install the news 1.2 module.

I do not know how to create table in SQL. Can somebody help.



You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'catname varchar(40) NOT NULL default '', PRIMARY KEY (storyid), KEY idxstor' at line 1

you do not need to know how to create a table as module install creates table for you. your error is odd, not sure what is up with that. if you are just installing i would uninstall and do a fresh install.

i just installed this module with no problem.

edit: oops, just realized another thread is happening, please disregard my post.

Unfortunately it means that 2 sets of people end up answering the same question :)

So what should I de-install to make sure everithing is ok to re-install!

I'm also having this message at the bottom of my page when I try to Install.

So here are my error message in a nutshell,Under INSTALLING ARTICLE:

The second error is just concerning an undefined constant, so nothing to worry about too much. The first error has me a little puzzled though. Can you turn on the MySQL debug block and post back the error it generates?

News wont install so where can I debug the database MySQL if there's no entry for the news module?
