Hey guys-
Tryin to get phpmyadmin up and running here. I downloaded the newest version, FTPd it up there, went to http://www.mydomain.com/phpmyadmin/admin/index.php and it's just a blank white page. I also tried loading it as a module in Xoops- but the database in XOOPS is all screwed up and wont allow me to properly install the thing. Im not even sure if I put it in the right place, let alone if I am running it correctly. I am about to completely uninstall XOOPS and reinstall the thing to get the database cleaered out so I can install my modules the right way, but would really not like to go that route. Can someone point me in the right direction?

And yes, I have done a search and read MANY threads- but no one discusses EXACTLY how to install/run this thing. And yes I have gone to http://www.phpmyadmin.com and read the install notes- again, not mych specific to this problem.
Thanks for any help!
D

Quote:

Are you sure that's the directory in which you installed it?

If you placed it in /phpmyadmin, you would access that directory, not /phpmyadmin/admin.

Did you set up config.inc.php with your database login info? Note that if you're using the "config" access method (rather than "cookie" or "HTTP auth"), make sure that the directory is protected from unauthorized users.

Yeah, I dropped the whole folder into:
http://www.mydomain.com

So that when I access it- its at
http://www.mydomain.com/phpmyadmin

But since there's no *.php file there- the index.php file is actually in a sub directory at:
http://www.mydomain.com/phpmyadmin/admin/index.php

I yank that up and it's just a blank page. NOW- I DID NOT alter anything in the config.inc.php file- I pulled it up, and there was code everywhere. I couldn't see/figure out where anything went. But through all the stuff going on, I forgot about altering it later- so that very well could be my problem. I will check that out and see what I can do. I really appreciate your speedy reply on this.
Thanks!

You downloaded it from phpmyadmin.net? I would recheck that you uploaded it correctly. I don't know where the "admin" directory came from, since that's not in the distribution.

The top level directory should contain index.php, config.inc.php, README and Documentation.html, along with other files. Documentation.html includes installation and configuration instructions.
