You don't *have* to use the module, it's just a way of making your site look uniform. You do whatever you want, it was just a suggestion.

If you wan't to use it. Just upload the files exactly as I packaged them. If you still get the same error, then I'll go through and check the code. When I installed it on one of my test sites (as I packaged it), it worked perfectly.

The way I packaged it, you should not have had to change anything. Just upload, and install.

The structure on the server should be...

/Modules
|
|.../
mainlinks

|...xoops_version.php

|...index.php

|...admin.png

|...instructions.txt

Link popularity is an important factor according to Google. Get your site URL on websites that get crawled regularly and are relevant to your content. Some SE sites are crawled each day by Google.

Change/ update/ renew your content often. This is also beneficila to S/Es like Google

Submit a page to google that has keywords relavant to top news stories in world news. I did this and had a huge hit rate in 2 days.

Thanks, I think I have been crawled every night by Yahoo and google, but it is not showing in the search engine, perhaps the site is new. I heard it takes 3 months to show in Yahoo, if you do not pay $300/year for their premium package.

I do have new contents almost every day.

I will try to do as you suggested on relevant key words. But I thought only 15% of the traffic on the net are from the seach engines. How do I tap the other 85%?

I am a Mortgage Broker and there is a whole list of thinks I would do different, who knows if I would be right.

I think it would be good if you study some sites and find the best / see what works for you.

Here are a few tips for what it's worth:
1) Don't go contraversal you might get a spike but nothing long term!
2) Always be politicly correct as webmaster. If you need to post an opinion log in as a user.
3) Your site is too confusing. Your users are not computer/tech guys. --- One menu would be better.
4) Drop that big logo. to flashy
5) Make that "Welcome to ..." smaller - see my site
6) Remove Google and don't do ads until you have a stady allways returning group of users.
7) Don't give more then 5 recent news, no one will read thru your list.
8) If you are willing to try all that pm me and I will take a look when you are ready.

You are welcome to check out my site.
