Admin Boxes Disappearing

I'm new to XOOPS and trying to learn the system. I have read through the new guide and it looks great. However I seem to be doing something wrong.

I found a new theme that I like. I uploaded the uncompressed them to a new folder in the same location as the other theme folders. I went into admin and set the theme for the homepage to be the new theme. When the new theme appears - there are no blocks in the left or right side. When I login there is no admin box on the side to make changes to the system. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your site was working previously then it sounds like it might be the theme itself. Which theme are you trying to use?

I downloaded it from the themes v2 library. It is called blueish.

i too have lost the "system admin" box in the control panel and i don't know what caused it.
is there anyway to get it back? find the code or something?
