hi, i have a community portal running on XOOPS from last 3-4 months, i submitted my site to many search engine including Google. For first 2-3 months googlebot gave just 2-3 hits on my site. And thus i thought the small hits by google bot is no t making my site come ins search output list. But this month all of a sudden i saw this in my Stats

I was exicted to see such a movement of googlebot at my site. Though i lost a hell lot of bandwidth but i was happy to see that googlebot is hitting pages. but unfortunately till date i have not seen my site in the search output at google. even the complete site address is new too google search engine. Not even single page is shown in google search output based on the prime keywords.

Does anyone else is having this sort of wired problem of not being able to get listed on google ???

Give some tricks and ideas to get onto Google :)

Did you submit an url to google?

I have over 10000 hits in one day and one time only, lol.

That shock me too.

By the way how much bandwidth you have for your webhosting?

I am not sure if those hits are spammers or true visitors. How many registered users did you gain from those 1000 or 10000 hits?

All the hits and visits count occur in one day which is on Sept. 18, 2004 as my webhosting webstats by Webalizer Version 2.01

I was looking into awstats, well i have good bandwidth so this wont make much pain.. but would be painful if googlbot made 1000 hits and yet not being able to bring up the site in the ranking :(

I don't know about my site ranking because I don't have the rank bar plugin install on my browser, but I will get it.

This morning it happened to me also. I looked at my site and its 87 guests looking at my site! As a new site, I normally have no more than 5. Further investigation found that the ip's visiting my site are all like 66.196.90.26 with the last two qualifier varies one or two apart. It led me believe this is the result of I submitted the site to Yahoo and signed up advertising on Google (I pause the pay per click ad though). These are web crawlers not true users. Unless you have a dramatic increase in number of registered users, its nothing to write home about.

I dont have any pay per click or any such advertising system.

other than this although google made so many hits. yet my site is yet to get listed on google :(.

Its been 3 months or more google directories are finding it hard to digest my website

Hoping to see the site very soon the google listings or search results.
