Does anyone of you use XOOPS for a software downloadsite?
Or have a list of some that are using it succesfully? thx

I currently thinkhttp://www.softpedia.com is on of the better, it's not xoops, but would somthing like that be possible with XOOPS and some added modules? and is there anyone who could do this that is also involved in XOOPS dev?

There would be lots. Try searching the YAXS news topic here at xoops.org if that doesn’t do it do a search in the forum there is bound do be some great sites created with XOOPS for that purpose.
