How to suspend a user for sometime

Hi,

how can i suspend the activities of member/user for a given period of time ???

For example i want to ban a member from posting into forums etc.

Create a new group called BANNED. In that group make no blocks available to the banned user. You might have a block saying your banned blah blah blah. You can even have a certain rank for BANNED users for your forum.
