I have been waiting for a couple months now to see the fix for the "clone" string...

I look at all those other posts, but I would like a see an official change of the 'clone' thing.

Sorry can't help with the answer. Easier to just run on 4.x so soon after a new release.

If you want to help, install Xoops 2.0.8 on a test site (not a production site), and see if it works correctly with PHP5.

Note that XOOPS 2.0.8 is not an official release, and does not include the changes made in 2.0.7.1, 2.0.7.2 and 2.0.7.3. But it does include changes that were intended to make it compatible with PHP5.

I would test it myself, except I haven't been able to get PHP5 installed properly on my computer.
