Backing up a single forum?

I have one Forum on my site I want to remove, but only temporaraly... is there a way I can do that? or even backup the files and put them back at a later date? Anyone got any ideas? because I sure don't!!!

Yes,

You have to backup your SQL database and that's it.

Yeah, I thought of that, but then when I set it back up wouldn't it overwrite the rest of my forum topics?

Yes.

Why do you want to temporarily remove the forum? If hiding it would suffice, you can do that (in NewBB 1) by making it private and not giving anyone access to it. At least I think that would work. I would backup the database first as a precaution.
