I have a problem with newbb.

When I was at home, I read all the posts on my site (dune.servint.com) and then logged out.

The next day I went to the university (the university network is behind a firewall), and was amazed to find that all the posts I've read marked as unread. It was kinda weird, so I reread them all, and they were marked as read.

The day after that, still in the university, I logged in to my site, and was startled to see all the posts unread again!

I asked a few users of my site, and none of them have this problem.

Can you think what is wrong? Suggestions? Anything?

A thing just occured to me... How does newbb knows what I've read and what I didn't read?

If it stores it in a cookie on my computer, that's stupid, since I move between computers, and mostly use public computers, and that's the only way I can explain what's going on with my newbb.

Please tell me how it stores the info, IE how it knows what messages I've read and what I didn't read.

It stores the info in a cookie. I agree that's not a good way to do it.

Maybe in newbb2, the RC, it could be stored in the database. I don't think this is hard to do, is it?
