I installed and everything went great. However, when I go to view the site, all I see is a blank page. I tried going through my browser options to see if that was the problem, but it doesn't appear to be. Any suggestions?

You might take a look at the Blank Page Troubleshooter on the Wiki.

You also could search blank page or white page here on xoops.org as this has been discussed many times.
