Hi,
Big Thanks to all who built XOOPS.

I want to show a Recent Topics block on the front page, but not in any module pages.

If I change the "visible" property from Yes to No in one screen (for the module), it also gets changed in the Top Page Screen.

I am running v2.0.7.

Thanks for your time.

OK - Just after posting I stumble onto a solution.
(I bet that never happens to anyone else )

Edit the block and change its properties so that it can only be displayed in the top page.

Does anyone know if this is the 'correct' way to do it?
Should what I have tried earlier worked?

Thanks anyway!

If you want a block to be displayed only on the top page, then changing its properties so that it's only displayed on the top page is the correct (and rather obvious ) solution.

Won't argue with that , BUT...

Am I mis-understanding the visibility option in the admin-blocks part.

I expected to be able to switch a block ON on top page, but OFF in module pages, even though the module properties say that it is allowed to be displayed in all pages.

So is the visible yes/no box a global setting, regardless of the setting in the "show blocks visible in" dropdown ?

Or am I still missing something

The visible yes/no box is global.

The "show blocks visible in" dropdown is merely a filter for choosing which blocks you want to see on that admin page. It has no effect on the blocks' properties.

I presume same is true of the Group dropdown, and that specific group visibility should be controlled via Groups Admin.

Much clearer now though, many thanks.
