No I think its a minor bug / bugs related to php 5.2.4

I was only posting what "errors" I observed. I feel that I did that. So you guys knew about it and could take care of it when you can.

I figured out the problem, and posted a bug report, with a suggested fix, here.

You don't have to do a complete install to reproduce the error. All you have to do is delete cache/adminmenu.php and visit the admin page.

The simplest way to avoid the error message is to delete cache/index.html and let the install script create it.

I installed 2.0.17.2-rc

I no longer have the "failed open file"

I can confirm that xoops_md5.php is working fine.

I am not sure is this bug is related to the rc.
