Hi Gtop,

I have proposed to help long time ago and also specify
that one don't need a title or a seat to contribute.
Just Freedom !

But the 'environment' is not favourable
So I share with others that contribute here.

Some people feel good contributing, some sharing
and some others getting ! That's life and Open SOurce

Models
Thanks for the models representation.

But there's a fundamental misunderstood
(human being and core-machine material)

First example, due to our day life, we are not able
to get involved all the time. So, new volunteers are able
to come read Core instructions and develop.

Also we are not all the time on a creative, lead, whatever mood
It changes all the time. To make things easy, we set it free!
Resist is against evolution. Time has showed us that's true.

Second example with model Ogre proposed by
Minahito who is a skilled gamer programmer
(read is blog about Artificial Intelligence)

You have placed "Project Lead" (benign dictator)
where it should be the Core (code) !

At some point is the Core that should dictate what is required
to run perfectly and what it needs in terms of development.
- I mean, the project-code, not an individual.

That send you back to first example, and the loop is buckled!

With these two models applied on XOOPS Cube Legacy project
we avoid politics to manipulate, power abuse, etc. And we get
a place for freedom in a solid base for innovation and creativity.

Have Fun!

I like people more than machines or money. But that's me!
Lets do something good and great: Lets do open source!

All said are known and well understood, but I still did not understand: Have you nominated and accepted to help (the specific attempt)? A Yes or No is enough.

You do not need an absolutely free and flat organization to get involved at any time. "new volunteers are able
to come read Core instructions and develop
" Sounds good as long as they co-operate to achieve a specific target. In other case, the problem would be "who is going to take them all back and make one". (see also 'fork').

Yes, Minahito seems to be an excellent programmer, but regarding the "Project Lead" I am right. See here.

"At some point the Core should dictate what is required
to run perfectly and what it needs in terms of development
" It can be achieved in many different ways (co-operation, understanding, good faith, ...).

Still I have not understand what is your proposal; I1 or I2 or an other one?

Dear Damaster, at this specific time we do not have the luxury for philosophic discussions. We urgently need specific and practical actions.

Dear gtop00,

Are you satisified with the way we are presenting your charts?

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Hi

Yes. It is what i'm doing

Model l1 is human being, a solid base for innovation and creativity!

Model l2 is for the core = code development.

Sorry, I should have specified that the Core was inspired by Ogre (in terms of code design and development). If some has free time to contribute, goggle for 'proof of concept' of l1 and l2

Hi Darcy,

I am impressed from the work you have done at the wiki!

1 complaint only; I was not informed about...

Regarding the presentation of the charts, I certainly have no problem. Most important is if those who made the proposals are happy with the diagrams. If not, I am waiting for their corrections.
Also, all proposals text should be formated in a similar way. I can do that for mine.

Re: Proposal: Towards A Sustainable Open Source Project

@gtop00,

SailJapan and I worked on it last night to bring together what was discussed in the forum. There was so much extra "chatter" not relating to the report Crip and MadFish are looking to evaluate. He was learning how to use the wiki and we are trying to determine the worth of the wiki in providing a place where all can input.

There are no rules on this wiki except to use it to acomplish work that needs to be done. (I'll do my best to keep it upnrunnin) The task at hand as I see it is to gather the main points of all the proposals and where there are no differences include them in the final draft, and where there are differences, note them to discuss as to how they may be merged into one acceptable to all proposal item or disregarded.

This is surely a work in progress.
Anyone who can help give the work a polished look is welcome to add their expertise.

Keeping it online and the data preserved is my main objective, so others can use it to the best advantage.
The pages that say gtop00 are yours to work with, adjust and make according to your own expectations.

I am only trying to point a direction and let people know the wiki is there for their use. (eventually maybe XOOPS will have its own wiki enviroment open to the public for input)

Thanks for being kind ... there should be more of that.

BTW: I put the site up and the wiki into operation, Giba and others provided the meat and substance to the site.

This stands for all of us too (I am also new to wiki which BTW is a perfect tool for co-elaboration).
I think that it is the time to decide how we are going to proceed. Do not forget that from now on, all members should be informed equally in order to avoid any misunderstandings...

Re: Proposal: Towards A Sustainable Open Source Project

hi gtop00
sorry I didn't mention it. BS sprung the page on me and I was unsure if I could figure out how to use it or not. Wanted to give it a go before getting everyone excited about it. Also wasn't sure what MadFish had in mind, him leading the team and all.

The good news is, it's easier to use than I'd imagined, and seems like an excellent tool if we care to use it. Might be the perfect place for working on drafts... unless everyone has google docs.

Let's see what Mad's got in mind and then consider this if it seems like something people want.
