How is the Protector setup different if php is set up as cgi instead of an apache module? What are the implications for Protector if it is set up as such? In a cgi setup, some of the directives mentioned here cannot be used: Quote:
5) php_flag or php_value can NOT be used in .htaccess files (It will result in Internal Server Error).

More and more hosting providers are moving to cgi instead of apache due to the implications for security (no setting of perms to 777, etc). Certainly mine has.
