The best is to start today!

The most critical issue right now is to test most popular modules and make sure that they work in 2.3.1.

In general, we should go through modules contained in the "Module Packs", as they were selected it be in the packs bacause of their popularity and functionality.

I'll add today a page to Wiki about modules working and not working in 2.3.1, and hopefully our users will updated those pages based on their testing and experiences.

I can help with items 1~5 as listed by Kenosis. I really like what has happened with the themes gallery repo, we need something similiar with modules. Personally I think this has been a shortcoming with XOOPS for the past few years.

The XOOPS experience really needs to be streamlined IMO. Security and functionality should not be trial and error processes. Digging through forums and google search pages should not be how its done.

I have been lurking around this site for many years and have benefited much from the folks that have contributed support, themes, mods, etc.

And of that list, especially w/ the older ones, which developers have fallen off the face of the earth since and which modules are incompatible w/ XOOPS 2.3, etc.

Still, it's a heck of a list!

Go take a look at the Babylon site linked above. They have over 150 tested for compatibility modules listed here, and another 150+ listed as probably compatible but yet to test here. Couldn't tell you which devs are still xoopsing or not, but as you say, one helluva list!

A short description for each working module would be nice, even if the title is self-explainable some times... and why is this list not here on xoops.org also? it is the mothership... :)
